The Climate

The climate of Kerala is moderate throughout the year.There is huge geographical diversity.The hilly areas have a cool climate whereas the plains are warmer and humid.Kerala experiences two monsoons.The South East monsoons or "Edavappathi" (June-Aug) and the North East monsoon or "Thulavarsham"  (Oct-nov).
Winter in Kerala starts with end of North East monsoons.By the end of february temperature starts rising.However summer in Kerala is relatively cooler and tranquil.
The annual range of temperature is comparatively low in Kerala.
However,even with the wide diversity of climatic features and seasons it is sometimes referred to by the name - "Rain's Own Country"
